ALTO Design
The two-level 1,260 sqm Starbucks Reserve at ICONSIAM reimagines the coffee experience through thoughtful spatial design and cultural storytelling. The space is anchored by a striking spiral staircase that gracefully winds around living coffee trees, creating an organic focal point that connects both levels. A commissioned mural by Thai street artist Rukkit Kuanhawate greets visitors with vibrant depictions of coffee cherries and the Bangkok skyline, establishing an immediate sense of place. Throughout the different spaces, customers are invited to explore, to enjoy, to experience and wind down. On the upper level, multiple community rooms offer the flexibility for groups of all sizes to meet and connect. The interior scheme celebrates Thai craftsmanship through different design expressions. A monumental wood-carved artwork acts as a backdrop for the Reserve bar, with intricate patterns echoing traditional local artistry. The ceiling installation of handcrafted lanterns creates a dynamic play of light and shadow, inspired by Thailand's floating lantern festivals.

Floor-to-ceiling glazing along the riverside façade blurs boundaries between interior and exterior, while the expansive terrace offers uninterrupted views of the Chao Phraya River and city skyline.
Material selections showcase a harmonious balance of warm woods, textured surfaces, and modern finishes, with the terrazzo flooring featuring subtle river-inspired motifs. The layout thoughtfully integrates dedicated experience zones, including a central brewing theater and elevated tasting areas, all designed to facilitate both intimate gatherings and communal interactions within this architecturally significant space.
