I'm Lucas Torresi. After 20 years designing customer-centric environments for global brands, including more than a decade leading store design for Starbucks across Asia Pacific, I've seen what impactful design looks like up close. Retail design isn't about fleeting trends. It's about understanding human behaviour (what we call "designing for instinct") and obsessing over impact, not just aesthetics.

My experience scaling design operations for 5,800+ stores, pioneering new formats, and championing sustainable design taught me how to deliver authentic, commercially smart spaces that drive behaviour and build lasting business. It also taught me to prioritise the human experience: environments where people connect, find community, and feel they belong. Balancing brand DNA with local resonance is critical, and it's both art and science. (And yes, along the way I also got deeply caffeinated and seriously educated about coffee. A happy bonus!)
